- Discussion-based classroom environments featuring Harkness-style learning:
Oracle classrooms are student-centered, leading to greater opportunites for collaboration and project based learning, emphasizing participation, and fostering individual accountability. - Graduation Porfolio:
As a requirement for graduation, Oracle students assemble a portfolio of work which they present to a panel of teachers and reviewers. The graduation portfolio includes representative work from all core academic subjects as well as elected materials. - Advisory System:
Our advisory system helps to ensure that no student falls through the cracks. Advisors track student progress, help students with problems, act as a parent liason, and work with advisory groups to cover select curriculum. - Morning Meeting:
Oracle Charter School replaces homeroom with an all school assembly allowing students to share announcements, give presentations, and practice respectful audience behavior. - Writing and Tutoring Center:
Staffed by teachers and by trained student and parent tutors, the Writing and Tutoring Center supports students as they work to achieve high standards. - Honor Code:
This allows students and their teachers to outline and uphold common standards for academic and social behavior. - Single-sex Learning Opportunities:
We will give Oracle students the opportunity to experience classes of all girls or all boys within a coeducation environment.
