Oracle to Participate in Buffalo’s Annual Garden Walk

July 23, 2010

BUFFALO, NY – Oracle Charter School is participating in this year’s Buffalo’s Garden Walk. The garden, which is currently maintained by staff as well as the school’s Outdoor Club, features a variety of perennials, including lilies; black eyed Susans; and butterfly bushes.

Oracle Charter School’s garden was originally established several years ago as a butterfly garden. Every year, science classes at Oracle would participate in a monarch project, during which students tracked the progress of caterpillars as they transformed into butterflies. After being recognized several times by Buffalo in Bloom, a decision was made to expand the garden to include a variety of perennials and to begin participating in the Garden Walk.

The event, which is one of the biggest garden walks in the country, is free and open to the public.
