Oracle Charter School: Preparing Students for College – and BeyondAcademic Highlights at Oracle Charter SchoolOracle Charter School prepares all of our students to succeed in college by providing them with a challenging academic program through four years of high school, complete with college preparatory classes focused on goal setting and attainment. We do this in an intimate environment, where the average class size is 18 students. Freshman OrientationThrough these classes, we ensure that our students receive a double dose of English and Mathematics to establish necessary critical thinking, reading and writing skills. Our Freshman Orientation features Project Goal, a program designed and delivered by Buffalo State College staff, which encourages students to aim high and set the kind of academic goals that will allow them to succeed in college. College PrepAll juniors take a College Prep class that guides them through the process of researching colleges, writing essays, and preparing to apply for financial aid. Advanced PlacementAdvanced Placement (AP) courses are open to students in their senior and, in some cases, junior years. AP courses offered at Oracle Charter School include: • AP English Language and Composition • AP United States History • AP United States Government • AP Biology After School HelpAll faculty are available after school from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. to help students. Additional tutorial services are provided through Buffalo State College. At Oracle Charter School, we believe that all of our students can achieve college preparatory goals, but we know that our targeted support is necessary to help them achieve.
